My aphasic English

Jernej Sluga

At the beginning, I would like to emphasize that I am extremely satisfied with the way my training in Karnion is going. I would also like to praise the attitude and professionalism of everyone participating in my training.

Regarding the English language, I understand approx. 95% of the content listened to, of course, if it is at my level or the level of English from "my previous life".

However, I have difficulty speaking. I wish I could speak fluently again and be able to chat with the attendees of our Association Internationale Aphasia (AIA) meetings.

I am the president of the AIA, so I travel a lot, and there are also foreigners on the AIA board, and I would like to speak to them independently, without the help of an interpreter.

At the same time, I would also like to thank Spica, who financially supported my participation in the course.

In autumn I would like to visit England or another English speaking country. If you are a stroke or an aphasia patient or an aphasia specialist, you are welcome. With your help my wish will come true.

I look forward to hearing from you!
